About the Role 

As Business Development Manager you will be involved in involved in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities to drive growth and revenue for regional big-sized channels across the South East of England. 

You will be responsible for researching market trends, identifying potential partners and customers, negotiating contracts, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, coaching & negotiation skills, and the ability to think creatively to identify new opportunities for growth. 

Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, this is a permanent, field-based (although working from home days will be required for business case creation and sales analytics etc), and you will be required to live on the territory.

Territory travel will be required, including some overnights, and occasional travel off territory for business meetings and conferences as necessary.  

This role is a hybrid role with a blend of face to face and remote selling opportunities.

What You Will Do 

  • Be responsible for acquiring new customers and developing new business opportunities with existing big-sized customers. 

  • Identifying new sales opportunities through prospecting, networking, and market research. Leveraging technology and internal information systems to make data-driven decisions in the prospecting process.  

  • Creating and delivering persuasive and engaging presentations and proposals to customers and articulating the products and solutions’ impact on the customers’ business.  

  • Negotiating contracts and closing sales. 

  • Managing the sales pipeline, including forecasting and tracking metrics to measure performance. 

  • When a new opportunity has been won, ensuring the Essity team meets the promises that have been made and customer expectations. Follow the opportunity through to the fulfillment stage, highlighting any challenges that need to be addressed to maintain the win. 

 

Who You Are 

This role would ideally suit an existing account manager / business development manager with experience in the medical sector. 

Desirables for this role include: 

  • Experience within the medical sales sector highly desirable however applicants from a biochemistry background would be considered. 

  • Good working knowledge of the acute care sector across the region  

  • Experience within wound care would be of distinct advantage. 

  • An interest and ability in developing professional working relationships 

  • Commercial acumen  

  • Good knowledge of IT skills, tech savvy
