Senior Controller - Sales & Marketing CEE

Division Professional Hygiene

At Essity, within our Professional Hygiene Business Unit, we are looking for an experienced Senior Commercial Controller to join our team in Poland, based in Warsaw. The Professional Hygiene Portfolio is extensive and important for us it encompasses washroom tissue; wipers and cloths; dispensers; soap, hand lotion and hand sanitizers, napkins and tableware. Our customer segments are quite diversified (i.e. Hotels, Restaurants, Catering, Commercial Office Buildings, healthcare. Industrial, Public interest) and we sell through distributors, e-commerce as well as end customers. Our aspiration is to be the global shaper of professional hygiene solutions.

About The Role

Currently we are looking for a Senior Controller Sales & Marketing CEE (Poland, Czechia, Slovakia).

Reporting to Regional Director Business Control, your primary responsibilities will be to control the delivery of our financial objectives for the CEE organization as well as day to day operational management of CEE financial requirements. You will be responsible for the full financial governance cycle starting from leading planning process (and monitoring/reporting against the plan thereafter), optimizing customer investment whilst partnering and challenging key stakeholders to influence the decision-making process. Ensuring robust control environment and compliance to the accounting and corporate policies and Business Unit guidelines is key to the role. Your main stakeholder will be Commercial Director CEE and you will be part of CEE Sales Management Team. Although solely responsible for the CEE financials, you will be working in the wider Controlling team with peer Controllers responsible for Belgium, Luxemburg, the Netherlands and DACH region.

What You Will Do

  • Manage CEE financial result according to the accounting standards

  • Monitor and follow-up on the CEE performance and deviations and drive corrective actions where necessary

  • Challenge and supports the Management Team in all financial aspects (operational and strategic) as the controlling Business Partner by providing insights to full financial value chain

  • Contribute to monthly consolidation of the Financials (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) and consolidation of long-term financial plans

  • Drive annual budget preparation and quarterly forecasting

  • Participates in the Business unit Controlling Network, e.g. to drive best practice within finance and controlling

  • Drives and supports business improvement projects and business process re-engineering within CEE and wider organization

  • Secures data integrity of all relevant financial information and planning systems

Who You Are

  • University degree, preferably in Business, Economics or Finance

  • Sales & Marketing controlling experience (5+ years)

  • Excellent experience with and interest for financial information, reporting and planning systems

  • Solid knowledge of Accounting Standards

  • Strong analytical, problem solving skills and attention to details

  • Solid verbal and written skills, able to communicate on different levels

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills

  • Performance driven on individual and organizational level

  • Passionate, “hands on” professional, energetic, entrepreneurial, pro-active and results oriented

  • Fluent in English
