Located in the heart of Stockholm, Fotografiska is an internationally-recognized meeting place and photography museum. It includes 2,500 square meters of exhibition space and draws and impressive 500,000 plus visitors annually. Their mission: to be an inclusive place, both onsite and online, where people from all backgrounds feel welcome and can engage in an open dialogue.
Through the museum’s long-running theme, “Fotografiska for Life,” we combine artistic, thought-provoking storytelling with insights from our “Hygiene Matters” initiative. This provides a strong platform for change, with the exhibition encouraging visitors to see imagery as a means of dispelling hygiene taboos and empowering people to promote far-reaching improvements.
Our first exhibition premiered on November 8, 2017, with Swedish photographer Ida Borg’s Hygiene, A Circle of Life. Expanding into 2018, our collaboration takes us to the US and UK with two new exhibitions. We hope you will join us in exploring the media and Hygiene Matters.
