Essity is proud partner to World Master Athletics Championships
Essity is the proud partner of the World Master Athletics Championships that takes place in Gothenburg from August 13-25. 9,000 athletes have registered to participate. A mix of amateurs and elite athletes, but they all share the passion for sports, and the fact that they are 35 years of age - or older.
Unveiling the Stirring Anthem of the Games: Golden Stars
The partnership between WMAC and Essity has resulted in writing and producing the official WMAC championship anthem called Golden Stars. The song has been released and is now available on all major music platforms. It encapsulates the spirit of the championship and is expected to resonate with participants and spectators from across the globe.
Eva-Lena Frick, Head of the Gothenburg Athletics Federation, expressed her excitement: “We are thrilled to present this anthem, which we believe will become a crowd favorite during ceremonies and award presentations. It embodies the passion and energy that surrounds the championships, and we are confident it will contribute to an electrifying atmosphere.”
The anthem, written by the trio of Rolf Eriksson, Sara Bergqvist, and Christian Jonson, is performed by the artist Nora Hedin, known for featuring songs for famous Swedish DJ Hogland.
“I am thrilled to be a part of this and to present the song,” says Nora Hedin. “My hope is that it will inspire both the participants and the audience to truly appreciate and enjoy the championship.”
Essity’s purpose is to break barriers to well-being for the benefit of consumers, patients, caregivers, customers, and society.
"With a strong local presence as an employer in Gothenburg, and with products under the globally leading brands TENA and Tork, as well as brands such as Actimove, JOBST, Leukoplast, Libero, and Libresse, this song is a tribute to everyone involved in the competition – athletes, officials, and spectators,” says Sofia Hallberg, Nordic Communications Director at Essity.
