We are passionate about offering the highest product and workplace safety standards there are.

Our highest priority is that everyone working at our production facilities and offices, or otherwise working at or visiting Essity, should be safe and in good health. We work purposefully towards achieving SDG 3 Good health and well-being and SDG 12 Responsible consumption and production

The safety, health and well-being of our employees is crucial to the success of our operations. It is also aligned with our Beliefs & Behaviors and the ethical standards and requirements expressed in our Code of Conduct.

We regularly monitor our employees’ perception of health and well-being.. We strive to promote physical and mental health with the development of new digital ways of working, trainings, and e-learnings. These offer a more systematic manner with which to assess, analyze and work with continuous improvements in employee health, well-being, and engagement.

We are committed to offer a work environment that contributes to a long-term sustainable working life. We encourage an open culture, and all employees are encouraged to be aware of and take immediate action against conditions, acts and behaviors that increase the risk of accidents.

I Care

In April 2022, the initiative I Care, our cultural journey towards a safe and healthy work environment, was launched.

It brings essential tools that empowers everyone to be a safety leader at Essity. The I Care leadership training provides the elements of safety knowledge and guide us to Know, Feel, and Do safety. In 2022, we trained more than 1,000 leaders. Our target is to train all 16,000 employees and contractors in our factories by 2024.

Rewards and celebrations are also part of I Care. In 2022, we recognized great performers with our first edition of Essity’s Global Health and Safety Award, delivered by our CEO. This was complemented with a global health and safety month celebration which commenced on April 28, which was aligned with the United Nations and International Labor Organization.
